Meet The PRO Team

B.J. Thomas - Team Leader

Eighteen years ago, Barbara Thomas, a REALTOR® in San Antonio made the move to Canyon Lake, Texas. This move came after many years of driving the beautiful Texas Hill Country and dreaming of calling it home. When opportunity arose she and her husband Jim, a computer engineer, made the move! They have never looked back. The new millennium has come and gone and Barbara is now B.J. and started virtually from scratch as a new agent with a small independent brokerage run by her mentor and close friend, Millie Griffin. She knew no one but her broker and the odds were definitely against her as there were several long-time residents of the area that were successful and established REALTORS®. That only made the challenge more interesting for B.J. The first year she made the million dollar club and the second year she did it again. The third year her broker announced her intent to retire and B.J. signed on with Coldwell Banker D'Ann Harper, REALTORS® who had recently acquired another independent brokerage firm at the lake. B.J. kicked her business into high gear and has been on the fast track ever since. She is now with EXIT Realty Canyon Lake and every year her sales soar higher and in 1993 she added a personal assistant to her game plan. B.J.'s daughter, Jeani Thomas Richie had moved to the area the year before and was finishing her graphic arts degree. Jeani began working on her mother's marketing and advertising plans and the two worked together to take B.J.'s business to the next level. B.J. had built a business that became impossible to run alone if she were to continue to offer the same high caliber customer service that she had become famous for. This is when B.J. formed The PRO Team in order to expand her business more effectively. The PRO Team operates successfully with B.J. at the helm as the team's leader and listing specialist The PRO Team is Marian Johnson, B.J.'s longtime administrative assistant and Roy Danford who works as a referral agent. B.J. serves the community through the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce (President 1998, director 2000-present), New Braunfels/Canyon Lake Area Association of Realtors (President 1996 and former Realtor of the Year, TREPAC committee), Hochheim Prairie of Comal County (past-president, director) and various other organizations.
