We're not really sure what causes this phenomenon, but it does have a name...CLST...Canyon Lake Standard Time. Time slows down, traffic slows down, your heart rate slows down. Some might say that Canyon Lake is a prescription for healthy living. One thing's for sure...once you get here, you'll fall in love with the place! Nature's abound in the Texas Hill Country!

Deer and Squirrels and Blue Jays, Oh My! There's no end to the wildlife present in the Texas Hill Country and Canyon Lake has it's fair share. From the deer (love 'em or hate 'em, you've got to admit they're kind of cute!), to the seasonal wildflowers, the flora and fauna is ever present. Many birders flock to our community to witness the many different species of birds that call our area home. The local Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers works diligently to develop nature and birding trails around the lake. In the spring, the majesty and splendor of the ever popular Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes is a major attraction to the area.
